Fred Victor Art Group at The Open Studio
This fall as a special trip our art group went to The Open Studio to learn about printmaking. The Open Studio is a printmaking studio for professional artists and the public. They offered us a two hour introduction to linocut printmaking. During our session everyone made their first linocut on linoleum and printed them. It was very exciting and being in such a beautiful space was very inspiring. This is the print that I made.
Next time maybe we will explore the silk-screen process or another method for relief printmaking.
As an artist, educator and therapist I have to honour of being with people when they are vulnerable and open. I love the process of "being with them" especially when they make a discovery. This happens in therapy, as they make art and even when we're just sitting around sharing the everyday details of our lives.
